Scintillation Yield

The light yield of a scintillator is the most critical factor for insuring high-level spectroscopic performance that requires a desired energy resolution, energy linearity and suppressed luminescence quenching for a wide range of particle mass.

Our systematic study revealed an outstanding energy resolution for heavy ions including fission fragments.

Radiation Hardness

The radiation hardness and tolerance of CCI325 to particle-induced radiation damage have been studied by observing luminescence degradation with increasing dose steps.

Defect regeneration was suppressed by setting a low T value (133 K), which helped to claim a tolerance level close to 1 MGy. In space application material degradation will not be a critical factor.
